Big Storm Convergence Blended Straight Bourbons, Blend No. 1 Review

Big Storm Convergence Blended Straight Bourbons, Blend No. 1 Review

Blended by Big Storm Distillery in Clearwater, FL

Proof: 111.4°

Age: 5+ year

Distilled in Indiana

The blend:

38%: 51% corn, 45% wheat, 4% malted barley

31%: 60% corn, 36% rye, 4% malted barley

31%: 99% corn, 1% malted barley

Nose 👃: Toffee.  Vanilla. Wheat bread.  Black pepper. Buttered popcorn. Plum.

Palate 👅: Oak. Burnt orange peel. Black pepper. Black tea. Cloves. Thick viscosity.

Finish 🏁: Black pepper. Oak. Black tea.  Long in length. Very dry.

Overall thoughts?  I’m loving this blend!  If you’re into dry bourbons, this is really going to appeal to you.  The combo of three vastly different mashbills is definitely working for me.  I’ve got a small sample bottle, but I’d happily own a 750 ml of this… and go to it often.
